What does the Mesotherapy procedure involve?
A series of micro injections are administered just below the surface of the skin at the location of the problem area. It can be used just about anywhere on the body, but is mostly use to treat the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, knees, and ankles.
What are the ingredients in Mesotherapy injections?
The mesotherapy injection is a solution of various vitamins, minerals, enzymes, plant extracts, amino acids, anesthetics, and medication. The makeup of the solution varies depending on the needs of the patient and the desired effect while allowing for a greater level of safety when issues such as drug interactions and allergies exist.
How many treatments are required before the results are visible?
A treatment cycle could require as few as 4 and as many as 10 treatments or more depending on the size of the area being treated and the results desired.
Are mesotherapy treatments painful?
A slight pinching or burning sensation may be felt depending on the sensitivity level of the patient. Patients describe the procedure as either painless or slightly irritating with some spots being more tender than others. A topical anesthetic gel can be used upon request.
Are there any side effects?
Mild swelling is expected in the treated area over the first 2-7 days due to the series on injections and the solution injected, but this swelling is temporary. Some patients experience mild bruising which also resolves within the first week.
Mesotherapy vs. Liposuction
Liposuction does not treat cellulite and in fact, it often ends up enhancing preexisting cellulite, making the cellulite more prominent. Mesotherapy treats cellulite directly, and the result is a smoother skin surface. Mesotherapy also targets fat in trouble areas. The fat deposits flush out of the microinjection sites and filter out of the body through the lymphatic system. The body does not gain the fat back in surrounding areas as often happens with liposuction. Unlike liposuction, Mesotherapy is a non-surgical technique that doe not require hospital admittance, general anesthesia, or downtime.
Will the results last?
Patients who make a commitment to maintaining healthy diet and lifestyle following treatment should see their results last indefinitely. Some patients however, do require some maintenance treatments.
